THE BIG BAD WOLF AND THE DEVIL

The devil tells you that you just cannot take any more – one more thing and you will fall apart. You are tempted to agree. In fact, you may even feel confident it is the truth!
But God . . .
For no temptation – no trial regarded as enticing to sin [no matter how it comes or where it leads] – has overtaken you and laid hold on you that is not common to man . . .
But God is faithful … and He [can be trusted] not to let you be tempted and tried and assayed beyond your ability and strength of resistance and power to endure, but with the temptation He will [always] also provide the way out – the means of escape to a landing place – that you may be capable and strong and powerful patiently to bear up under it.[I]
Let me reiterate that. God will not allow you to be tempted or tried beyond your ability to withstand. He will always give you a means of escape. I have often been heard to say “It may only be a 20 second window but it will be there — so don’t miss it!”
That window is the grace to overcome, resist, and refuse to believe the lie. It gives you time to reinforce your stand on His promise and declare the devil a liar.
Over the years I have stood on this scripture and each and every time come out victorious. Only once did I come close to crumbling under the weight of seemingly overwhelming obstacles. Why? Because someone caused me to question my understanding of that verse. Without that foundation, the devil came close to succeeding at blowing my house down. I never did that again.
Establish your heart on His promise. The next time life seems overwhelming, remind yourself and the devil. Speak it out, loud and clear.
God will not allow me to be tempted or tried beyond my ability to withstand.
AND DON'T FORGET TO LOOK FOR AND TAKE
THE WAY OF ESCAPE!
