The devil says God is good - you should follow Him – TOMORROW

An old adage goes something like this . . . Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today.

Another word for putting things off is to procrastinate.  It means to defer action; delay; to put off till another day or time.  I feel fairly certain most of us have been guilty of this at one time or another.

But procrastinate on following God?  Who would ever think of doing that?

Before you answer to quickly, let’s consider . . .

  • I will pray later, I am late, I have to run . . .
  • Ring, ring, ring … later God, the phone is ringing . . .
  • Demands, demands, demands … as soon as I finish my list . . .
  • If I had a schedule like other people I could . . .
  • I have responsibilities, others expect me to . . .
  • I’ll try again tomorrow … I am just too tired . . .
  • After … and after … and after . . . I’ll have time . . .

You may protest that this is not about following God.

My question then is how can you follow God unless you spend time with Him and know what He is directing?

Indeed the devil says God is good – you should follow Him – tomorrow [i]

However, God says –

Yet you do not know [the least thing] about what may happen tomorrow . . . You are [really] but a wisp of vapor (a puff of smoke, a mist) that is visible for a little while then disappears [into thin air].[ii]

You are only certain of the present moment . . . make it count for eternity!
