THE ROAD TO DESTINY – dealing with transition

Transitions qualify us and position us for destiny fulfillment!

There is a seed of destiny in all of us.  It may be a desire to fulfill a purpose, walk out a calling, make a difference, or stand apart.

In some, it is very strong and clear.  In others, perhaps through life circumstances, it only seems like a flickering candle, but it is there nonetheless.

In the post The Road to Destiny – Transition, the process and goal of transition was discussed.  Now, we will consider the issues God deals with, within us, in the transition process.

Issues in Transition:

  • God deals with the old . . . Who am I

Esther went through transition when she found herself an orphan after her parents’ death.  She did not say I can’t because I was orphaned.

Daniel endured captivity and Joseph suffered through slavery.  They did not say I can’t because of what happened to me.

God is a healer and a restorer.  No matter what our past holds, we do not have to stay there. The past is over!

  • God deals with our view of reality.

Peter went through a reality shift when God instructed him to go to the home of Cornelius, a gentile.  He was a Jew and that was unquestionably wrong to him.  What were his brothers going to think?

God removes our religious legalistic mindsets that block us from coming into the new thing He is doing.

  • God deals with our worship structures … what we bow down to.

God uncovers our every fear, because what we fear we bow down to.  For instance, if we fear man, we will cower underneath people and circumstances.  If we fear need, we will bow down to people or situations that assure financial security.

God is dealing with what we believe.  Ultimately, we believe what we worship, what we bow down to.

  • God repositions us.

God gives us new or altered direction.  He repositions us for the fulfillment of the seed of destiny that is within.

He moves us, positioning us for the harvest. He may physically move our home or our job.  He is positioning us for the events He plans to come about.

  • God brings new connections.

God realigns us so fullness can come forth.  To connect means to bind.  When two things join each other, a new thing can come about. God repositions us and connects us to the new so that what He has destined will come forth.

Esther’s parents died, leaving her orphaned.  God connected her to the person who caused her destiny to come forth.

Ruth chose to follow Naomi and the divine connection.  Naomi returned to Bethlehem after her husband and sons died.  Ruth moved to Bethlehem, with her mother-in-law, and married a man named Boaz, of the Royal House of Judah.  When she bore the child Obed, the stage was being set for the future kings of the nation of Israel, and the coming of the Messiah.

Transition involves and often requires new connections.

The road to destiny necessitates dealing with transition.

Cooperate with God’s process and come into the destiny He has planned for you.  Others are depending on it!

    Hi Barbara,

Great post on God's perfect timing with regards to transition. I've always loved the story of Ruth and how God used all the circumstances in her life to open the door for God's favor and blessing.

This is especially evident in the repositioning of Naomi and the connection she had with Boaz. God orchestrates so many details on our behalf we would be amazed if we were privy to all of it, Amen?

I will be sure to visit your ministry website. Please visit me at my blog for women in an unequally-yoked marriage at http://bit.ly/vWO9aM .

Amen ... God is the perfect orchestrator.  Now if we can just follow the conductor without missing a cue ... what a symphony there will be!

Thank you Deborah for your comments and I will certainly visit your blog.

      Blessings in return ...

Glad to hear it helped. I have had several major transitions, some obvious, others subtle. In all cases it strongly affected my ministry and revelation of Christ ... that being most important! Miss you guys as well. We have gone South quite often, perhaps we will meet again!
