DO YOU SEE WHAT I SEE . . .

To be an authentic Christian in today’s culture you are automatically a radical Christian.i

Does one’s world-view affect spiritual vision?  Does it hinder spiritual sight?

Your world-view can blind your spiritual perception.

  • A world-view is a set of presuppositions (assumptions, which may be true, partially true, or entirely false) which we hold (consciously or subconsciously, consistently or inconsistently) about the basic make-up of our world.ii

How would you define your world view?

  • Typical western view – materialist, meaning more concerned with material things than with spiritual, intellectual or cultural values.
  • Rationalist – Accepts reason as the supreme authority in matters of opinion, belief, or conduct.
  • Christ centered world-view – Recognizes the kingdoms of light and darkness, and views current culture in that context.

Your world view, knowingly or unknowingly, has been formed from your childhood.  Your environment and the society in which you live form it.

To perceive and understand spiritual realities we must not reduce life to rules of logic or theories requiring proof.

And we are setting these truths forth in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the [Holy] Spirit, combining and interpreting spiritual truths with spiritual language [to those who possess the Holy Spirit]iii

There is in fact, a reality that overlays this present world.

It is cosmic in nature. It began in eternity and it will end in eternity.  This eternal truth continues forward to an eternal conclusion.  It will end when . . .

The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.iv

This truth will prevail … the question is what part you will play in the battle of the ages.  Will you be one that sees and restrains the enemy’s work?

Consider your world-view, is it blinding your spiritual eyes?

Do you see what I see?  Join with others who press into God's eternal purpose in Christ. Stand up and be counted for the kingdom of the Lord in the battle of the ages!
