Are you candy coated...

Thoughts not taken captive coat the mind…

Layer upon layer they hide the presence of God.

Layer upon layer they hide spiritual reality.

Layer upon layer they hide and thus diminish your authority.

Something hidden is something you cannot see, rendering you in essence... blind!

In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not...i

The enemy blinds the eyes of the unbelieving.  If you accept thoughts that are contrary to God’s Word (thus showing your unbelief), the enemy can and will blind you.  It is of little matter whether those thoughts originate from your flesh, the thoughts of others, or the enemy’s suggestion.  The result is the same, blindness!

Consider the effects of blindness . . .

On your awareness of the Presence of God. Is there anything more vital to our life in the Spirit than the precious presence of God?  Is there any longing as deep?  Its importance can be somewhat measured by the sheer amount of worship music that centers on this theme.

Consider the effect of blindness on spiritual reality.  Spiritual reality is substance.  It goes beyond feelings.  It is the working reality of spiritual material.  It is the revelation of the power and resources present and available to believers.  It is that which empowers.

Spiritual authority comes forth from sight.  The word revelation is from the root to reveal.  It is beyond mere understanding.  When we say we see, what we mean is that a matter is revealed, made known, open to view, displayed.

It is time to consider again the importance of taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.ii

It is time to calculate how detrimental it is if you fail to regard this instruction.

Candy coating is wonderful on apples and other delectable treats, but detrimental to the purposes of Christ.  Stay alert to the dulling process that can enfold you layer upon layer.

Say NO to being CANDY COATED!
